Arrive Port Blair · Cellular Jail and light and sound show — Our driver meets you at Veer Savarkar International Airport, Port Blair (now Sri Vijaya Puram), and takes you to your hotel, about 15 minutes away. Ferry to Havelock · Radhanagar Beach sunset — After an early breakfast, transfer to Haddo jetty for the private ferry to Havelock (Swaraj Dweep), about 1.5–2.5 hours depending on the boat. Ferry to Neil Island · Natural Bridge and Laxmanpur sunset — After breakfast and check-out, take the ferry to Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep), about 1 hour. Neil is small and quiet, and most places are within 5 km. After check-in, visit Bharatpur Beach, where the shallow coral can be seen at low tide, then the Natural Bridge rock formation at Laxmanpur Beach 2 (best at low tide; wear shoes with grip). End the day with the sunset at Laxmanpur Beach 1.
Sitapur sunrise · ferry to Port Blair · Chidiya Tapu — If you are up early, watch the sunrise at Sitapur Beach, a short drive from your resort. Visa & entry
No visa or permit needed for Indian citizens visiting Port Blair, Havelock and Neil. Carry an original government photo ID (Aadhaar, passport, driving licence or voter ID) for every traveller, because it is checked at the airport, at every ferry and at hotels. For children without Aadhaar, carry a school ID or birth certificate.
Good to know
Ferry timings are fixed a day or two in advance and can change with the weather; the day plans follow the ferry you are booked on.
Cellular Jail is closed on Mondays and national holidays, so we plan the Port Blair day around it.
Mobile data and ATMs are limited on Havelock and Neil. Carry enough cash; UPI works in most places, but the network can be slow.
The sun is strong all year. Carry sunscreen, a cap and light cotton clothes. Do not touch or stand on coral, and do not take shells or coral home; it is illegal.
Seafood is excellent, and vegetarian North and South Indian food is easily available in Port Blair and on Havelock. Neil has fewer restaurants.
Monsoon (mid-May to September) brings heavy rain and rough seas; boat trips and some ferries may be cancelled at short notice.
Questions travellers ask
Do we need a permit or passport for Andaman?
No. Indian citizens need only a valid government photo ID such as Aadhaar, voter ID, driving licence or passport. Carry the original, because it is checked at the airport, ferries and hotels.
Can non-swimmers do snorkelling?
Yes. At Elephant Beach you snorkel in shallow water with a life jacket and an instructor nearby. The glass-bottom boat ride is another way to see the coral without getting wet.
Is vegetarian food available?
Yes. Port Blair and Havelock have many vegetarian and South Indian restaurants, and hotels serve vegetarian breakfast. Tell us in advance if you need Jain food.
Does the price include flights?
No. The package starts and ends at Port Blair airport. There are direct flights from Hyderabad and Chennai; from Vijayawada you usually connect through one of them. We can book flights separately and send you a combined quote.
Is the ferry safe for elderly parents and small children?
Yes. We book enclosed AC private ferries with assigned seats. If anyone gets seasick, take a tablet half an hour before boarding and choose a seat in the middle of the boat.
