Highlights

Day-by-day itinerary

  1. Arrive Port Blair · Cellular Jail light and sound show — Our driver meets you at Port Blair (Sri Vijaya Puram) airport and takes you to your hotel, about 15 minutes away, where a welcome drink is served. After lunch on your own, relax at Corbyn's Cove beach, then visit the Cellular Jail museum in the afternoon (closed on Mondays and national holidays). Stay for the included evening light and sound show about the freedom struggle.
  2. Day trip to Baratang · limestone caves — A very early start, around 4:00–4:30 am, with a packed breakfast from the hotel. Drive about 100 km north on the Andaman Trunk Road to Jirkatang, where vehicles join a police-escorted convoy through the Jarawa tribal reserve; stopping, photography and any contact with the Jarawa are strictly banned. After a short vehicle ferry, take a speedboat through mangrove creeks to the limestone caves,…
  3. Ross Island and North Bay · Chidiya Tapu sunset — After breakfast, take the boat from Aberdeen jetty (Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex) to Ross Island (Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep), about 15–20 minutes, and walk among the ruins of the old British headquarters, with deer and peacocks roaming free. The same boat continues to North Bay, where you can see coral from a glass-bottom boat or snorkel; water sports there are paid on the spot. Back…
  4. Ferry to Havelock · Radhanagar Beach sunset — After an early breakfast, take the ferry from Haddo jetty to Havelock (Swaraj Dweep), about 1.5–2.5 hours. Our representative meets you and takes you to your resort. In the afternoon, drive about 12 km to Radhanagar Beach, a long white-sand beach, for a swim in the lifeguard zone and the sunset.
  5. Elephant Beach · snorkelling and glass-bottom boat — After breakfast, take a boat from Havelock jetty to Elephant Beach, about 20–30 minutes each way. Snorkelling gear and a glass-bottom boat ride are included; non-swimmers can snorkel in shallow water with a life jacket. The sea walk, jet ski and other water sports are optional and paid on the spot. Back at the resort by early afternoon. An optional beginner scuba dive can be booked for this…
  6. Ferry to Neil Island · Natural Bridge and Laxmanpur sunset — After breakfast and check-out, take the ferry to Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep), about 1 hour. Neil is small and quiet, with most places within 5 km. Visit Bharatpur Beach, where shallow coral shows at low tide, and the Natural Bridge rock formation at Laxmanpur Beach 2 (best at low tide; wear shoes with grip). End the day with the sunset at Laxmanpur Beach 1.
  7. Sitapur sunrise · ferry to Port Blair · shopping — Watch the sunrise at Sitapur Beach if you are up early. After breakfast, take the ferry back to Port Blair, about 1–1.5 hours, and check in. The afternoon is free. Visit the Samudrika Naval Marine Museum (closed on Mondays) or the Anthropological Museum if you wish (entry paid locally), and shop for pearl, shell and wooden items around Aberdeen Bazaar and the Sagarika government emporium.
  8. Departure from Port Blair — After breakfast, check out and transfer to Port Blair airport, about 15 minutes, reaching about 2 hours before your flight.

Visa & entry

No visa or permit needed for Indian citizens visiting Port Blair, Baratang, Havelock and Neil. The Baratang road passes through a protected tribal reserve, so vehicles travel in escorted convoys; your driver handles the paperwork. Carry an original government photo ID (Aadhaar, passport, driving licence or voter ID) for every traveller; it is checked at the airport, the Jirkatang check-post, every ferry and hotels.

Good to know

Questions travellers ask

Is the Baratang trip suitable for elderly parents?

It is a 12-hour day with an early start, a speedboat ride and a walk of about 1.2 km each way on uneven ground. Healthy seniors usually manage it; if anyone has knee or back problems, they can rest in Port Blair that day.

Can we see the Jarawa tribe on the way to Baratang?

You may pass them on the road, but stopping, photographing or giving them anything is banned by law, with heavy penalties. The convoy rules exist to protect the tribe.

Is vegetarian food available?

Yes. Port Blair and Havelock have many vegetarian and South Indian restaurants, and hotels serve vegetarian breakfast. Neil has fewer choices, so tell us in advance if you need Jain food.

Does the price include flights?

No. The package starts and ends at Port Blair airport. There are direct flights from Hyderabad and Chennai; we can book flights from Vijayawada or Hyderabad separately and send you a combined quote.

What should we buy in Andaman?

Pearl jewellery, shell craft and wooden items made from local timber. Buy from government emporiums such as Sagarika or licensed shops, and keep the bill. Collecting or carrying coral and shells from beaches is illegal.
