Visa & entry
Most Indian passport holders need a UAE tourist visa arranged before travel, usually an e-visa applied for through a travel agent or the airline. Indians holding a valid US visa or US Green Card, or an EU visa or residence permit, can get a 14-day visa on arrival (fee payable). Rules for UK visa or residence holders were under revision in 2026, so please check with us before relying on visa on arrival. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival.
Good to know
Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque dress code: women need loose, ankle-length clothing with full sleeves and a headscarf; men need long trousers and at least short-sleeved shirts. Abayas are no longer lent at the mosque. A small visitor fee applies (free for visitors aged 60 and above). On Fridays the mosque is closed to visitors from about 12:00 to 2:30 pm.
BAPS Hindu Mandir is open Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 am to 8:00 pm, and closed on Mondays. Every visitor must register online in advance and carry the original passport. No shorts, sleeveless tops or skirts above the knee.
Pure vegetarian and South Indian restaurants are easy to find in Bur Dubai, Karama and Al Barsha; the desert safari BBQ includes vegetarian dishes.
Desert safari dune bashing is not advised for pregnant women, infants, or people with back or heart problems; they can ride in a separate vehicle that goes directly to the camp.
The currency is the UAE dirham (AED). Cards are widely accepted; carry some cash for souks and tips.
Global Village is a seasonal park, open from mid-October to May (Season 31 opened on 14 October 2026).
Questions travellers ask
Do I need a visa for Dubai?
Yes, most Indian passport holders need a UAE visa before travel. If you hold a valid US visa or Green Card, or an EU visa or residence permit, you may be eligible for a 14-day visa on arrival. Share your passport details with us and we will tell you which applies.
Is vegetarian food available?
Yes. Hotel breakfasts have vegetarian options, the desert safari dinner includes vegetarian dishes, and there are many Indian vegetarian restaurants in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Can we visit the BAPS Hindu Mandir on any day?
It is closed on Mondays, so we schedule the Abu Dhabi day on another day. Registration on the temple website is required for each visitor, and entry is free.
Are the dhow cruise and Global Village included?
No, both are optional and can be added at extra cost. Global Village is open only from mid-October to May.
Is the desert safari suitable for elderly parents and small children?
The camp, camel ride and dinner are fine for most people. Dune bashing can be bumpy, so elderly travellers, pregnant women and infants can skip it and go directly to the camp.
