Good to know
Drinking alcohol on beaches and in other public places is not allowed in Goa. The tourism department's 2026 order lists fines from ₹5,000 to ₹1 lakh for nuisance offences such as public drinking, littering, cooking on the beach and buying tickets from touts.
Swimming and water sports are stopped during the monsoon (roughly June to September). Swim only where lifeguards have put up flags, and never after drinking.
Churches have a dress code: cover shoulders and knees. Photography inside the Basilica of Bom Jesus may be restricted.
Vegetarian and South Indian restaurants are easy to find near Calangute and Panjim. Ask for 'less spicy' at beach shacks; Goan curries can be hot.
December, especially Christmas to New Year, is the busiest and most expensive time. Book early and expect traffic in Calangute–Baga.
UPI and cards work almost everywhere. Keep some cash for water sports counters and small shops.
Questions travellers ask
Are water sports included?
No. Parasailing, jet ski and banana rides are optional and paid at the licensed counters on the beach. Prices vary by season, so our driver can point you to an official counter.
Is this package suitable for families with kids and elderly parents?
Yes. The hotel is close to the beach, sightseeing is by private car and walking is light. Chapora Fort has a short, steep climb that seniors can skip.
Is vegetarian food available?
Yes. The spice plantation buffet has vegetarian dishes, and there are many vegetarian and South Indian restaurants in Calangute and Panjim.
Which airport should we fly into?
Either works. Mopa (GOX) in the north and Dabolim (GOI) in the south are both about an hour from Calangute. We arrange the transfer for whichever airport your flight uses.
Does the price include flights?
No. We can book flights from Vijayawada or Hyderabad separately and send you a combined quote.
