Good to know
Churches and temples have dress codes: cover shoulders and knees. Some temples ask visitors to remove footwear and may restrict entry to the inner sanctum.
Masses are held in the Old Goa churches, especially on Sundays; visitors are asked to stay quiet or wait until the service ends.
The Archaeological Museum in Old Goa is closed on Fridays, and Reis Magos Fort is closed on Mondays. We set the day order around your travel dates.
Old Goa is hot and open by midday. Carry water, a cap and comfortable walking shoes.
Panjim has many vegetarian and Udupi-style restaurants, and Ponda's temple towns serve simple Goan Hindu vegetarian thalis.
Drinking alcohol on beaches and in other public places is not allowed in Goa; the 2026 tourism order sets fines from ₹5,000 to ₹1 lakh.
Questions travellers ask
Is this trip suitable for elderly parents?
Yes. Panjim is a central base, drives are short (20 minutes to 1 hour), and the walks are on level ground. The Fontainhas lanes have a few steps, and the guide can shorten the walk.
Can Hindus visit the churches, and can everyone visit the temples?
Yes. The churches welcome visitors of all faiths outside service times. The Mangueshi and Shantadurga temples welcome visitors, though entry to the inner sanctum may be limited to Hindus.
Is vegetarian food available?
Yes. The spice plantation buffet has vegetarian dishes, and Panjim and Ponda have many vegetarian restaurants serving South Indian and Goan Hindu food.
Are there beaches on this trip?
Yes, but it is not a beach holiday. You see Colva beach at sunset and the coast at Fort Aguada. For more beach time, we can add a night in North or South Goa.
Does the price include flights?
No. We can book flights from Vijayawada or Hyderabad separately and send you a combined quote.
