Arrive Dharamshala · McLeodganj evening walk — Our driver picks you up at Kangra (Gaggal) airport, about 45 minutes from McLeodganj, or at Pathankot railway station, about 90 km and 3 hours away. Departure from Dharamshala — After breakfast, check out. If time allows, stop at a Tibetan handicraft shop for carpets, singing bowls or prayer flags. You will then be dropped at Kangra (Gaggal) airport or Pathankot railway station. Flights from Kangra are few and can be cancelled in bad weather, so avoid tight onward connections.

No visa needed — Indian ID proof required. Carry an original photo ID such as Aadhaar, passport or voter ID for hotel check-in and the security check at the Dalai Lama Temple.
Good to know
Triund is a moderate hike with a steady climb and rocky steps. You need reasonable fitness, good walking shoes with grip, 2 litres of water and a rain jacket. It is not advised for small children under 7, seniors with knee problems or anyone with heart conditions.
McLeodganj has narrow, steep lanes and frequent traffic jams. Walking is often faster than driving within town.

McLeodganj is one of the wettest places in Himachal from July to September. Even in spring, carry an umbrella and a warm layer for evenings.
Mobile signal and UPI work in town. Carry cash for the trek fee, tea stalls on the trail and small shops.
Many cafés and restaurants serve vegetarian Tibetan food (veg momos, thukpa, thenthuk) as well as North and South Indian dishes.

Can we meet or see the Dalai Lama?
Private audiences are rare. When he is in residence and holds public teachings, anyone can attend after registering with the Branch Security Office in McLeodganj. Dates are announced on dalailama.com.
Is the Triund trek difficult?
It is a moderate day hike of about 7 km each way from Galu Devi temple, with a steady climb. Most fit beginners manage it in 3–4 hours up. Those who prefer not to hike can do a car tour of Naddi and Dal Lake instead.
Can we stay overnight at Triund?
Overnight camping is not part of this package. Camping rules and fees are set by the forest department and change often; we can check and arrange a tent stay through a registered operator at extra cost.
How do we reach Dharamshala from Andhra Pradesh?
Fly to Delhi and take a connecting flight to Kangra (Gaggal), or an overnight train to Pathankot, or an overnight Volvo bus from Delhi to McLeodganj. We can quote any of these separately.
Is vegetarian food available?
Yes. McLeodganj has many vegetarian and vegan cafés, and North and South Indian restaurants.
