Day-by-day itinerary
Arrive Amman — Our representative meets you at Queen Alia International Airport after immigration, where you get your visa on arrival or show your Jordan Pass, and drives you to your Amman hotel, about 45 minutes. Check-in is usually from 2:00–3:00 pm. The rest of the day is free to rest after the flight; Rainbow Street, with its cafés, is a pleasant evening walk. Dinner is at the hotel.
Jerash · Amman Citadel and downtown — After breakfast, drive about 1 hour north to Jerash and spend about 2.5–3 hours with a local guide, walking from Hadrian's Arch through the Oval Plaza and along the colonnaded Cardo to the Temple of Artemis and the theatres. Lunch is on your own near the site. Back in Amman, visit the Citadel, with the Temple of Hercules, the Umayyad Palace and the Jordan Archaeological Museum, then the Roman…
King's Highway · Madaba, Mount Nebo and Kerak Castle to Petra — Check out after breakfast and drive about 45 minutes to Madaba to see the 6th-century mosaic map of the Holy Land in St George's Church. Mount Nebo is 15 minutes further, where Moses is said to have viewed the Promised Land; on a clear day you can see the Dead Sea and Jericho. Then follow the winding King's Highway south across Wadi Mujib canyon to Kerak, a large Crusader castle, for about 1…
Full day in Petra — Start early, around 7:00–7:30 am, before the heat and crowds. A local guide walks with you for about 3 hours through the Siq, a 1.2 km gorge, to the Treasury, then along the Street of Facades, past the Theatre and up to the Royal Tombs, explaining Nabataean history. Lunch is on your own at the restaurant inside Petra. In the afternoon, fit walkers can climb about 800 rock-cut steps to the…
Little Petra · Wadi Rum jeep safari and desert camp — After breakfast, a short stop at Little Petra (Siq al-Barid, free entry), then drive about 1.5–2 hours to Wadi Rum and check in to your desert camp. In the afternoon, a Bedouin driver takes you on a jeep safari of about 2–3 hours: Lawrence's Spring, the Khazali Canyon rock carvings, red sand dunes and rock bridges, ending with the sunset. Dinner at camp is often a zarb, slow-cooked under the…
Wadi Rum to Aqaba · Afternoon by the Red Sea — After breakfast at camp, drive about 1 hour to Aqaba, Jordan's only seaport, and check in. The afternoon is for the Red Sea: relax at the hotel beach or pool, or, at extra cost, take a glass-bottom boat ride (about 1 hour) over the coral reefs or a snorkelling trip to the South Beach reefs, where the water is clear and calm. In the evening, walk along the Corniche past Aqaba Fort to the souk for…
Aqaba to the Dead Sea · Float in the Dead Sea — After breakfast, drive north along the Dead Sea Highway through the Wadi Araba valley, about 3–3.5 hours, with the mountains on one side and the sea coming into view near the end. Check in to your resort in the early afternoon and head to the hotel beach to float in the very salty water and try the mineral-rich black mud. Keep the water away from your eyes and avoid shaving that day. Watch the…
Optional Baptism Site · Departure from Amman airport — Breakfast and check-out, usually by 12:00 noon. If your flight is in the evening, you can visit the Baptism Site of Jesus at Bethany Beyond the Jordan (optional; entry covered by the Jordan Pass), about 30 minutes from the resorts, for a guided walk of about 1.5 hours. Transfer to Queen Alia International Airport, about 1 hour from the Dead Sea, reaching about 3 hours before your flight.

Visa & entry
Indian passport holders can get a single-entry tourist visa on arrival at Queen Alia International Airport, Amman, for JOD 40 (about ₹4,700), or apply for a Jordan e-visa before travel. If you buy a Jordan Pass online before you fly and stay in Jordan at least 3 nights, the visa fee is waived; the pass also covers Petra, Jerash, Kerak, Wadi Rum and many other sites on this tour. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months, and immigration may ask to see your return ticket, hotel bookings and proof of funds.
Good to know
Buy a Jordan Pass before travel (Wanderer JOD 70 for 1 Petra day, Explorer JOD 75 for 2 days). It waives the JOD 40 visa fee and covers most entry tickets on this tour, which would otherwise cost well over JOD 100.
Petra is a full day of walking on sand, rock and steps (10–15 km if you climb to the Monastery). Wear proper walking shoes and carry water, a hat and sunscreen.
Pack layers: Amman, Petra and Wadi Rum are cold in winter evenings, while Aqaba and the Dead Sea are warm most of the year.
Vegetarian food is easy to find: hummus, falafel, mutabbal, lentil soup, rice and salads. Tell us in advance so hotels and the camp prepare vegetarian dinners.
The currency is the Jordanian dinar (JOD), worth about ₹118. Cards work in hotels and larger shops; carry cash for rides, small shops and tips.
Dress modestly outside resorts, with shoulders and knees covered, and carry a scarf for churches and mosques.
Questions travellers ask
Do Indians get a visa on arrival in Jordan?
Yes, Indian passport holders can get a tourist visa on arrival at Amman airport for JOD 40. If you buy a Jordan Pass online before travel and stay at least 3 nights, the visa fee is waived.
Are entry tickets included?
No. We recommend a Jordan Pass, which covers Petra (two days with the Explorer pass), Jerash, Kerak, Wadi Rum and most other sites, plus the visa fee. We can buy it for you and add it to your quote.
Is vegetarian food available?
Yes. Breakfast and dinner are included every day, and Jordanian food has many vegetarian dishes. We inform the hotels and the camp of your preference in advance.
Is the tour suitable for seniors?
Yes for seniors who can walk a few kilometres. Petra is the hardest day, but you can walk to the Treasury at your own pace and skip the Monastery climb. The Day 3 drive is long, with regular stops.
Is Jordan safe for tourists?
Jordan is generally considered safe for tourists, and the main tourist sites operate normally. In June 2026, the UK updated its advice to describe most of the country as safe to visit. We keep track of advisories and will tell you if anything changes before your trip.
