Visa & entry
Singapore requires a visa for Indian passport holders. You cannot apply yourself: a Singapore-authorised visa agent in India files the application, and we arrange this for you. Approved visas are issued as an e-Visa, and processing usually takes 3–5 working days after submission. Apply with the passport you will travel on, which must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel. Before landing, fill in the free SG Arrival Card online within 3 days before arrival.
Good to know
Hawker centres such as Tekka Centre, Chinatown Complex and Lau Pa Sat serve full meals for about SGD 5–8, with plenty of vegetarian stalls. Tap water is safe to drink, so carry a bottle.
Budget hotels in Singapore have small rooms, and some have shared or compact bathrooms. Tell us if you need a private bathroom or a triple room.
The MRT is the cheapest way to get around. Tap a contactless Visa or Mastercard at the gates; foreign transaction charges from your bank may apply.
Singapore has strict rules: no chewing gum in your luggage, no littering, no smoking outside marked areas, and no eating or drinking on the MRT. Fines are enforced.
It is hot and humid all year, about 26–33°C, with sudden showers. Carry an umbrella and wear comfortable walking shoes. Power sockets are the UK three-pin type (Type G).
Questions travellers ask
Is Universal Studios included?
No. This budget package includes one Sentosa attraction. Universal Studios can be added for the Sentosa day at extra cost.
How much spending money do we need per day?
Many travellers manage on about SGD 40–60 per person per day for hawker meals and MRT fares, plus whatever you plan to shop.
Do Indians need a visa for Singapore?
Yes. We file it for you through an authorised visa agent, and it is issued as an e-Visa, usually 3–5 working days after submission.
Are flights included?
No. Flights are not included, but we can find you good fares; booking 6–8 weeks ahead usually helps. Singapore has direct flights from Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru.
Will we get vegetarian food?
Yes, easily. Little India and most hawker centres have South Indian vegetarian food, and hotel breakfasts have vegetarian options.
