Visa & entry
Indian passport holders need a visa for South Korea; Indians are not eligible for the K-ETA visa waiver. Apply for a short-term tourist visa (C-3-9) through the Korean visa application centre or embassy/consulate covering your state, with your confirmed flights, hotel bookings, itinerary, bank statements and ITRs. The single-entry fee is about ₹3,400 plus a service charge, and processing usually takes about 10 working days, so apply 3–4 weeks before travel. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months, and you must carry the original on the DMZ day. Before landing, complete the free Korea e-Arrival Card online.
Good to know
DMZ tours do not run on Mondays or on some national holidays, and can be cancelled at short notice for security reasons. Carry your original passport; tours refuse entry without it.
Gyeongbokgung Palace is closed on Tuesdays. We arrange the days around these closures.
Korean food often uses fish sauce, meat broth or seafood. Dinners are arranged with vegetarian options, including Indian restaurants in Seoul and Busan; temple-food restaurants are fully vegetarian.
If you travel by KTX, keep luggage to one medium suitcase per person; there is limited luggage space on the trains.
Carry a T-money card for metro and buses. Cards are widely accepted, but markets and some street stalls take cash only.
Expect plenty of walking and stairs, especially at Seokguram, Gamcheon Culture Village and Haedong Yonggungsa.
Questions travellers ask
Do Indians need a visa for South Korea?
Yes. Indians need a tourist visa before travel and cannot use K-ETA. Apply about 3–4 weeks ahead with your bank statements, ITRs, and our itinerary and hotel confirmations; we help with the documents.
Is the DMZ safe, and can children go?
Yes. The DMZ tour visits public sites under military supervision and is open to all ages, but the Third Tunnel has a steep walk and low ceilings, so it may not suit people with knee or heart problems. They can wait at the visitor centre.
Is vegetarian food available?
Yes, with some planning. Hotel breakfasts have bread, fruit and eggs, and we arrange dinners with vegetarian options, including Indian restaurants. Lunches are on your own; we share a list of vegetarian-friendly places.
Is Seoul to Busan by train or bus?
It is by KTX high-speed train or by road, as stated in your quote. The KTX is faster; the road option is easier with heavy luggage.
Are flights included?
No. We can quote flights to and from Incheon separately, or an open-jaw ticket returning from Busan if fares are better.
