Arrive San Francisco · Evening at Fisherman's Wharf — Our representative meets you at San Francisco International Airport after immigration and customs and drives you to your hotel, about 30–40 minutes. Standard check-in is from 3:00–4:00 pm. In the evening, walk around Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39, where sea lions lie on the floating docks, with views of Alcatraz and the bay. Dinner is included.

Visa & entry
Indian passport holders need a US B1/B2 visitor visa. You fill in the online DS-160 form, pay the application fee and attend an in-person interview at a US consulate in India; most applicants now need an interview, and you should apply in India, where you live. Interview waits are long. In September 2026 the State Department listed waits for a B1/B2 interview of about 12 months in Hyderabad, 11.5 months in Mumbai, 10 months in New Delhi, 7.5 months in Chennai and 6.5 months in Kolkata. Please start the process as early as possible, ideally before fixing your travel dates, and keep checking for earlier slots. The application (MRV) fee is currently USD 185 per person, and a new USD 250 visa integrity fee is being introduced, collected when the visa is issued; we confirm the current fees when you apply. If you already have a US visa, check it is valid for your travel dates. Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay.
Good to know
Highway 1 through Big Sur reopened fully in January 2026 after landslide repairs, but winter storms can close sections at short notice. If it is closed, we route inland on Highway 101 and still visit Monterey, Carmel and Santa Barbara.
San Francisco is cool and often foggy even in summer (13–20°C), while Las Vegas can pass 40°C from June to September. Pack layers.
Tipping is expected: about 15–20% at restaurants and USD 5–10 per person per day for drivers and guides. Sales tax is added to most prices at the till.
Indian vegetarian food is easy to find in the Bay Area, Los Angeles (especially Artesia's 'Little India') and Las Vegas.
Las Vegas hotels charge a nightly resort fee (often USD 30–50 per room), paid at check-in or check-out.
US power sockets are type A/B at 110 volts; carry a universal adapter.

How long does it take to get a US visa?
Interview waits in India are long: in September 2026 they were about 12 months in Hyderabad and 6.5–10 months in other cities. Apply before you plan the trip. We help with the DS-160 form, appointment booking and document checklist.
Are Universal Studios and Disneyland included?
No. Day 6 is a free day so you can choose one at extra cost. Tell us when booking and we will add tickets and transfers.
Is the Highway 1 drive tiring for elderly parents?
Day 3 is long, about 9–10 hours with stops, but it is in a comfortable vehicle with regular breaks. Day 4 is shorter. Seniors who prefer less road time can fly from San Francisco to Los Angeles instead, at extra cost.
Can we visit the Malibu Venkateswara temple?
Yes. The Sri Venkateswara Temple in Calabasas is about 45 minutes from central Los Angeles, and we can arrange a private transfer on the free day.
Are flights included?
No. International flights are quoted separately. Most routes fly into San Francisco and out of Las Vegas with one connection, and we can send you a combined quote.
